Smartcard and eServices trade association
As has been widely reported in the Trade Press, AIDC is eatablishing a Trade Association for the Smartcard and eServices industry. The current Steering Committee is being chaired by Mick Davies, Chairman of LASSeO. Mick is keen for other senior figures in the industry to come forward and help the Steering Committee establish the key principles of the Association.
At this stage in its life, the Association has identified a number of initial priorities. These are:
To represent the industry's interests with a unified voice to Government departments such as DWP, DfT and DCLG
To represent the industry's interests with a unified voice to local authorities
To work proactively to improve the members'/sector's profitability and competitiveness
To supply information and advice to members
To promote good public relations and communications
To promote market opportunities
To promote training and education
To promote standards and product/service quality
To promote innovation and technology transfer
To offer commercial benefits to members
One of the Steering Committee's first roles is to determine membership subscriptions. The Committee's intention is to keep these at an affordable level. The intial feeling is that these should be linked to members' overall turnover. But we would welcome any comments on this and any other matters.
Anybody interested in joining the Steering Committee or finding out more about the new Association should contact us via the contact form.
